Tonya Marie Photography & Family Portraits
So my mom loves to have a new family portrait taken every year. And I just hate love to do this for her. One might wonder why? I love photographing other families…but photographing your own is quite a different story. This photo session involves getting 6 adults and 3 kids dressed and transported to my favorite location on the beach. Then I set up my camera on a tripod, position everyone, set the timer, run to my spot, smile, hope for the best, and repeat about 10 times. Hey, at least I didn’t break my toe on the rocks this year!
And actually, the planning for this portrait started months ahead of time. We live in 3 different states: Michigan, Texas, and Indiana so just getting everyone in the same place at the same time can be a challenge. And then there’s the clothing selection.
We all know that great clothing is essential for a beautiful portrait. I’m always on the look out for unique clothing and while planning our color choices for “The Family Portrait” came across this fabulous designer Mary from Tickled Pink Girls. I fell in love with her collection, decided on a dress, and planned the colors according to the fabrics in the dress.
So this is what we came up with this year…colorful and fun.
And here are a few portraits with showing off the dresses. The attention to detail and the quality are simply superb.

Tonya, I love those dresses. Why don’t the make clothes like that for adults? Man!!! Great photos too and your new niece is adorable!
WOW look at your daughter - I had to do a double take. Her hair is soooooo pretty. I remember when she had almost no hair. Awesome pictures.
